M. D. Anderson Cancer Center

MD Anderson Logo The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center operates a free-standing Radiation Treatment Center on the campus of CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital.

The new facility is led by
M. D. Anderson trained and employed Radiation Oncologists. This facility provides the latest in radiation therapy along with the convenience and ease of access once enjoyed only by those who lived in close proximity to, or were willing to drive into the Texas Medical Center.

Cancer Care Services

CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital and the M. D. Anderson Radiation Treatment Center offer a wide range of Cancer Care Services. For more information on their services, visit their website.

The American Cancer Society offers a wide range of programs including:

  • Road to Recovery: Free transportation for cancer patients to and from cancer treatments.
  • Free Wigs and Turbans: Available through the American Cancer Society’s Local Resource Centers.
  • Reach to Recovery: Face to face visit by a breast cancer survivor/volunteer.
  • Look Good Feel Better: Free make up class for women undergoing cancer treatment.
  • Relay for Life: Survivors Celebration in your local community
  • Clinical Trials: Preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic.

Clinical trials

Clinical trials can be cancer treatment or research studies. It tests new treatments, including new drugs, new approaches to surgery or new combinations of treatment. Clinical trials may be preventative, diagnostic or therapeutic. Participation in clinical trials is completely voluntary and an individual may choose not to participate at any time.
